Anne was a dedicated gymnast all her childhood, competing at Irish National level in gymnastics.
In 1982 a Canadian trampolinist, visiting Trinity College Dublin, inspired her to take up trampolining after retiring from gymnastics. She was quickly hooked, trained hard, and in 1985 became Irish National Champion. She also gained her first coaching qualification in 1985.
In Autumn 1985, Anne moved to St Andrews University, coached and trained in St. Andrews and also trained with Dundee University (with coach Gavin Hands) and Perth Trampoline club (with coach Pete Marshall), so that she could train almost every day of the week!
She competed for Scottish Universities, representing Scotland in Germany in 1986 and winning the Scottish Universities Championships in 1989. In 1990 she competed for Loughborough University ‘A’ team.
She went on to compete in the mainstream competitions and gained 2nd place at Scottish national elite level.

In 2009, Anne founded Edinburgh Spirals Trampoline Club (along with Catriona Rae who has since left the club) with an aim to producing high performance competitive trampolinists. She now directs her own experiences in the competitive world into coaching and guiding the Club’s gymnasts towards their own competitive success.
